Amy is a certified Personal Trainer and Fitness Instructor on land & water with an emphasis on rehabilitation.
Pilates is an amazing system of exercises designed to improve physical strength, flexibility, balance, posture, and enhance mental awareness. Breath, Control, Mindfulness, Centering, Alignment and Precision are the 6 Pilates Principles we will use to achieve an integrated mind/body workout. (Oh and Fun…don’t forget the Fun Principle!)
She is fully certified in all aspects of Pilates through PHI Pilates and have been teaching since 2002. While living in NJ, she was honored with several awards including: “Best Pilates Studio in NJ” NJ Monthly 2011, 2012, “Favorite Pilates Studio”, Natural Awakenings 2012, 2013, and “Best Pilates in Morris County, NJ” Morris/Essex Health 2012-2017.
Amy is very honored and grateful to be the very first Pilates instructor to join the staff at Lila Yoga.
The feeling of peace and joy is evident the moment you walk into the studio. Her goal is for students start to see not just changes in their bodies, but also in their minds, their emotions and their everyday lives. When they look back on their workout, Amy wants them to remember the challenge, but more importantly how good it makes them feel physically, emotionally and spiritually.
Amy is a graduate of Penn State University and has recently returned to State College with her husband, Tom to enjoy the fun, energy and opportunity this town has to offer!
