Intro to Yoga – Level 2 Workshop – “Preparing you to practice in Group Lila Yoga Classes”

May 16 @ 7:30 pm - 9:00 pm
  • This event has passed.

Intro to Yoga – Level 2 is a stepping stone course that prepares students to practice in regularly scheduled group Lila Yoga classes. Taught by Brandi Rollins (RYT-500), this workshop is perfect for students who have completed Intro to Yoga or who have some yoga experience, but have difficulty keeping up in regular yoga classes.

What makes this workshop unique?

This hands-on workshop is individualized to meet the needs of each student. Brandi will (1) help you to identify where you may be struggling in regularly scheduled classes (e.g. pacing, breathing, postures), and (2) teach you breathing techniques, yoga modifications, and movements/stretches that you can do during yoga classes and at home to improve your practice. During the workshop, you will also have opportunities to:

  • Gain greater experience with yoga sequencing (or vinyasa flow)
  • Workshop postures
  • Practice pranayama (Breath work)
  • Practice meditation

To further support you in identifying where you may be struggling in your yoga practice (and to chart your progress), you are encouraged to attend one of the 30+ regularly scheduled classes at the studio on a weekly or biweekly basis. At the beginning of each workshop class, Brandi will check in with you to discuss your experiences in the regularly schedule classes, and offer feedback and support.

You will also receive weekly emails from Brandi where you will have an opportunity to check-in, ask questions, and receive additional support.

The workshop is community-oriented. Each class will take place in a small class setting with the same group of students, giving you an opportunity to connect with other students, the teachers, and the greater Lila Yoga community.
